Men’s Hockey Looks To Move Deeper In Post-Season In 2008-09

The 2008-09 Gustavus men's hockey team looks to use the experience gained from last season's fourth place league finish and strong off-ice leadership to qualify for its ninth consecutive MIAC Post-Season Tournament and advance deeper in post-season play. Coach Petersen will count on junior captains Cody Mosbeck (Jr, Emo, Ontario), David Martinson (Jr., St. Louis Park, Minn.), and Joe Welch (Jr., Hastings, Minn.) to lead the young team.

Senior Emily Klein is the all-time digs leader at Gustavus. 

Volleyball Team Optimistic About 2008 Season

The Gustavus Adolphus College volleyball team looks to move back into the top of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference standings after missing the league playoffs in 2007 with an 18-8 overall and 6-5 conference record. Head Coach Kari Eckheart will look to two-time MIAC Co-Defensive Player of the Year Emily Klein and four-year veteran Bridget Burtzel, to lead the way for eight other letterwinners and six incoming first-year players.

Bri Radtke leads the team in assists at 2.5 assists per game. 

Women’s Basketball Prepares For High-Scoring Bethel On Wednesday Night

The Golden Gustie women's basketball team hopes to continue its winning ways on Wednesday night against the Bethel Royals on Wednesday night at Gus Young Court. Gustavus is currently in a three-way tie with Carleton and Concordia for third in the MIAC at 9-4. Wednesday's game will be broadcast through the Gustavus website beginning at 7:20 p.m.

Veteran Women’s Nordic Skiing Team Has High Expectations For 2007-08 Season

The Gustavus Adolphus women's Nordic ski team will open its season this weekend at Junior Olympic Qualifying races in Dresser, Wis. Saturday's action will feature a 1-kilometer freestyle sprint race, while Sunday's races will highlight a 1-kilometer classic sprint race. Gustavus begins the season with an experienced squad that finished fourth at the Central Collegiate Ski Association (CCSA) Regional Championships a year ago.

Coach Mike Carroll will look to All-Americans Margaret Dorer and Molly Doyle as well as all-conference forward Jenny Pusch to lead a squad that is looking to move up to the next level of national competition.

The Gustavus Adolphus College men's soccer teams has high hopes for the 2007 season as 12 seniors return from a squad that was co-champions of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) in 2006 and also won the MIAC Post-Season Tournament. Coach Larry Zelenz will rely on all-region senior forward Mike Butterworth as well as three-year starters Jeffrey Johnson (midfielder) and Ben Heupel (defense) to lead a squad

2007 Men’s Tennis Preview

The Gustavus Adolphus men's tennis team enters the 2007 spring season as somewhat of an unknown quantity. The team returns only two players off last season's NCAA Tournament lineup, but if last fall's Wilson/ITA Midwest Regional is any indication of how the Gustavus men's tennis team will rebound, the outlook for Spring 2007 looks favorable.

Senior Brittany Moore is a three-time NCGA Championships participant in the vault. 

2007 Gymnastics Preview

The Gustavus gymnastics team opens its 2007 season on Monday, January 8 with a dual meet against UW-Stout in St. Peter. Head Coach Kris Glidden is entering her seventh season at Gustavus and will look to seven seniors to provide experience and leadership as the team progresses toward the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) Regional and National Championships in March.
