Men’s Hockey Advances To MIAC Championship With 3-1 Win Over St. Thomas

Brad Wieck and Casey Dynan scored two goals in the third period to open up a tie game as the Gustavus men's hockey team defeated St. Thomas 3-1 in a MIAC semifinal contest on Saturday in St. Peter. The win marks the first time since the 1996-97 season that the Gusties recorded three wins over the Tommies. Gustavus, which improved to 16-10-0 overall, will host Hamline in the MIAC Championship game on Wednesday, March 4 at 8 p.m. St. Thomas finished the season at 12-11-3 overall.

Men’s Basketball Season Comes To End With 90-50 Loss At St. Thomas

The St. Thomas defensive pressure proved to be too much for the Gustavus men's basketball team as the Gusties saw their season coming to an end after a disappointing 90-50 loss in the MIAC semifinals on Wednesday in St. Paul. Gustavus was unable to generate an offensive rhythm as it committed 21 turnovers resulting in 34 Tommie points. Robert Schmidt was the only Gustie to reach double-figures with 13 points as four other players chipped in six points each.

Women’s Hockey Advances To MIAC Final With 5-0 Win Over Hamline

The Gustavus women's hockey team earned a spot in its ninth consecutive MIAC Championship game with a 5-0 win over Hamline at Don Roberts Ice Rink on Saturday afternoon. The Gusties jumped out to a three-goal lead in the first period and never looked back to earn their fifth shutout in seven games. Gustavus improved to 24-2-0, while Hamline finished its season at 14-10-3 after falling to the Gusties in the MIAC Semifinal for the second straight season.

Women’s Hockey Faces Hamline In MIAC Semifinal Action, Game To Be Broadcast Over Internet

The Gustavus Adolphus College women's hockey team and Hamline University will face off in MIAC Semifinal action on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Don Roberts Ice Rink in St. Peter, Minn. The #1-seed Golden Gusties enter the contest at 23-2-0 overall, while the #4-seed Pipers come in at 14-9-3 overall. Saturday's game can be watched and listened to through the Gustavus website.

Women’s Basketball Knocked Out Of Playoffs After 77-61 Loss To St. Thomas

The Gustavus women's basketball team saw its season come to an end on Wednesday night after suffering a 77-61 loss to St. Thomas in an MIAC Semifinal in St. Paul. The Gusties trailed by one point with 5:55 remaining in the contest before the Tommies went on a 17-2 run to close out the game. St. Thomas shot 57 percent from the field compared to 40 percent for the Gusties. St. Thomas improved to 20-6, while Gustavus wrapped up the season at 18-9.

Men’s Soccer Advances to MIAC Post-Season Finals With 2-1 Victory Over St. Thomas

Mike Butterworth (Sr., Katy, Tex.) scored with less than three minutes remaining to propel the #2 seed Gustavus men's soccer team past St. Thomas 2-1 in a MIAC Post-Season Semifinal Wednesday afternoon in St. Peter. The win marks the fourth time Gustavus will play in the MIAC Post-Season Final where the Golden Gusties will take on #4 seed St. Olaf Saturday at 1:00 pm in St. Peter. St. Olaf knocked off #1 seed Carleton 1-0 earlier in the afternoon.
