Baseball Drops Doubleheader To Loras 12-4 And 4-3
The Gustavus baseball team stumbled in the Metrodome on Monday afternoon by dropping both games of the doubleheader to Loras College. The Gusties fell 12-4 in game one, and 4-3 in extra innings in game two. Alan Woitas had a good day at the plate, going 3-7 with three RBI’s, a double, and a home run.
Gustavus Splits With Luther in Metrodome Doubleheader
For the second straight weekend, the Gustavus Adolphus baseball team picked up a doubleheader split at the Metrodome in Minneapolis. The Gusties fell to Luther 4-0 in game one and then responded with a 14-5 win in game two. Pat Siering went 2-for-4 with six RBI in game two behind a two-run triple and a grand slam home run to lead the Gusties.
Baseball Opens Season With Split Against Bethany (Kan.)
The Gustavus Adolphus baseball team opened its season with a doubleheader split with Bethany (Kan.) Sunday evening at the Metrodome in Minneapolis. The Gusties took game one 7-6, but fell in the late game 4-2. Nate Ruff finished 4-for-7 with three runs scored on the evening. The Gusties (1-1) return to the Metrodome next Sunday when they face Luther in a doubleheader.
Baseball Opens Season With Sweep of Dickinson State at Metrodome
The Gustavus Adolphus baseball team got its season off to a good start early Monday morning with a sweep of Dickinson State (N.D.) at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome in Minneapolis. Gustavus took game one 3-2 behind the strong pitching of Josh Spitzack and used a five-run first inning to take game two by the score of 6-2.
