Men’s Hockey Suffers Overtime Loss to St. Thomas

The Gustavus men’s hockey team suffered a 3-2 overtime loss to St. Thomas on Friday night at Don Roberts Ice Rink, dropping to 5-10-1 overall and 2-4-1 in the MIAC. The Gusties netted the equalizer with 2:31 remaining in regulation, but the Tommies started overtime on the power play and took advantage with the game-winner 56 seconds later.

Men’s Hockey Shuts Out Aurora 3-0

Chris Amsden (Sr., Saint Peter, Minn.) tied a personal best 40 saves to help the Gustavus men’s hockey team record a 3-0 shutout over Aurora on Friday night. The Gusties move to 5-6-1 overall while the Spartans drop to 7-5.

Men’s Hockey Loses 3-1 to No. 15 St. Scholastica

The Gustavus men’s hockey team Friday night lost to No. 15 St. Scholastica 3-1 in non-conference action, dropping to 4-6-1 overall. Despite not getting the win on the ice, Gustavus earned a victory for its charitable efforts by hosting the annual Teddy Bear Toss Game, which collected hundreds of new stuffed animals with donations going to the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital.

Deja Vu, Men’s Hockey Ties Aurora 3-3

It was déjà vu all over for the Gustavus men’s hockey team as it tied Aurora 3-3 in overtime for the second straight game Saturday. The Gusties never trailed in the contest, but an Aurora goal midway through the third period proved to be the equalizer and neither team was able to find the back of the net the rest of the way. Gustavus moves to 6-4-3, while the Spartans move to 2-7-4.
