The Gustavus women’s basketball team wrapped up a six-game home stand Friday evening with a convincing 79-45 win over Coe College in non-conference action. The win moves the Gusties to 8-1 overall while Coe drops to 3-8.

The Gustavus women’s basketball team lost its first game of the season 74-66 to St. Thomas on Wednesday evening. The Tommies used a 29-11 advantage in the second quarter to create separation and fended off a second half comeback to secure the win in a match of nationally ranked teams. For the third-straight game, the Gustavus women’s basketball team was able to erase a first quarter deficit and proceed to a convincing win, this time 78-56 over Augsburg on Wednesday. The No. 12-ranked Gusties stay perfect with the win, moving to 6-0 overall and 2-0 in the MIAC, while the Auggies drop to 4-3 overall and 1-1 in the league.
Women’s Basketball Wins Big In Conference Opener, 88-47 Over St. Olaf
After starting slow for the second consecutive game Saturday with just 11 points in the first quarter, the Gustavus women’s basketball team was able to kick it in gear during the second quarter and cruised to an 88-47 win over St. Olaf. The No. 12-ranked Gusties, who were able to play all 17 members on the roster, improve to 5-0 overall and 1-0 in the MIAC, while St. Olaf drops to 2-6 overall and 0-1 in the league.
Women’s Hoops Cruises To 78-45 Win At Martin Luther
Monday’s non-conference women’s basketball game got off to a slow start with just one bucket from each team in nearly the first five minutes, but after giving up the first two points of the game Gustavus took a lead it would not relinquish against Martin Luther in a 78-45 decision. The Gusties found their stride late in the first quarter and held at least a 20-point lead throughout the second half, cruising to their third victory in as many games to start the season.
Women’s Basketball Downs UW-La Crosse 67-59 In Home Opener
The No. 16-ranked Gustavus women’s basketball team squeaked out a 67-59 home-opening victory against UW-La Crosse on Tuesday night at Gus Young Court. The Gusties held a slim three-point lead with 1:16 remaining in the game, but held the Eagles scoreless the rest of the way to move to 2-0 on the season.
