Allie Schwab Named MIAC Women’s Hockey Player Of The Year, Three Other Gusties Awarded All-Conference
The accolades keep rolling in for the Gustavus women’s hockey team as four Gusties garnered MIAC All-Conference honors. Highlighting the conference’s post-season awards is senior forward Allie Schwab (Stillwater, Minn.) who was named MIAC Player-of-the-Year. Senior Mollie Carroll (Eagan, Minn.), sophomore Amanda Cartony (Stillwater, Minn.) and junior Lindsey Hjelm (North Oaks, Minn.) were also named All-Conference.
In a battle of the top two MIAC women’s hockey teams, No. 4 Gustavus defeated No. 9 Concordia 4-1 Friday night in Moorhead, Minn. The Gusties remain the sole unbeaten team in Division III at 14-0-1 overall and 9-0-0 in the MIAC, while the Cobbers fall to 9-3-2 on the year and 5-2-2 in league play.

First year Lindsey Hjelm (North Oaks, Minn.), senior Melissa Mackley (Burnsville, Minn.), junior Kirstin Peterson (St. Paul, Minn.), and sophomore Allie Schwab (Stillwater, Minn.) were bestowed All-Conference Team honors.
The Gustavus women's hockey team rallied from a 1-0 deficit to defeat Hamline 5-1 at Drake Arena in St. Paul on Friday night. Senior captain Melissa Mackley led the way with two goals and two assists. Danielle Justice was the winning goaltender.
The Gustavus women's hockey team completed an important weekend sweep over Concordia College with a 4-0 win in Moorhead on Saturday afternoon. The Gusties got goals from Alyssa Saunders, Kelsey Kennedy, Tam Meuwissen, and Allie Schwab, while goaltender Danielle Justice recorded the win in the net. Meuwissen (16:14) and Schwab's (17:07) goals, which gave the Gusties some breathing room, came less than a minute apart midway through the third period.
