Five Gusties Named Women’s Tennis All-Conference, Carlson Earns Chris Evert Award
The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its women’s tennis postseason awards Thursday and five Gusties were recognized as All-Conference members. Cal Carlson (Sr., St. Peter, Minn.) highlighted the awards as she was honored with the Chris Evert Award, which annually recognizes a senior tennis student-athlete with outstanding sportsmanship and exemplary athletic, academic and humanitarian accomplishments.

Aney, Lepel Named March Student-Athletes-Of-The-Month
Women’s tennis player Katie Aney (Jr., Rochester, Minn.) and baseball catcher Nolan Lepel (Jr., Plato, Minn.) have been selected as the Gustavus Adolphus College March Female and Male Student-Athletes-of-the-Month, presented by Thrivent Financial and voted on by the Gustavus Sports Information Department.
Katie Aney Named MIAC Women’s Tennis Athlete Of The Week
Katie Aney and her teammates spent the weekend facing Division II and I opponents, with a great deal of success for the Division III squad. The Gusties went 2-1 while playing up, with wins over D-II Southwest Minnesota State (9-0) and Minnesota State-Mankato (7-2) while losing a hard-fought 5-2 match to Division I Drake to snap the team's season-opening, 11-match winning streak. Aney won both her singles (6-3, 7-6) and doubles (8-1) matches against Southwest Minnesota State, and she won her doubles match (8-1) against Minnesota State-Mankato. Against Division I Drake she picked up the lone singles victory in a three-set thriller, 3-6, 6-2, 1-0.
Women’s Tennis Drops First Match Of Season At Division I Drake
The Gustavus women’s tennis team dropped its first match of the season Sunday 5-2 against Division I Drake University. The loss moves the Gusties to 11-1 overall.
Women’s Tennis Sweeps Minnesota-Duluth 9-0
The No. 36-ranked Gustavus women’s tennis team completed a clean 9-0 sweep over the University of Minnesota, Duluth on Friday night, improving to 3-0 overall on the season.
