Women’s Indoor Track & Field Takes First At CSB Quad

The Gustavus women’s indoor track and field team compiled 166.5 points to take first place at the College of Saint Benedict Quadrangular held Saturday afternoon in Collegeville, Minn. Kaelene Lundstrum was the top Gustavus performer at the meet, winning the 55-meter hurdles (8.98) and high jump (5’ 3”), while taking fifth in the shot put (38’ 9.75”).

Gustavus Adolphus senior Kaelene Lundstrum was named MIAC Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for her efforts at the MSU-Mankato Open over the weekend. Lundstrum took first place in the Pentathon with 3,468 points, setting a new school record and qualifying for the Nationals.

Women’s Indoor Track & Field Competes At Bethel Open

Select members of the Gustavus women's indoor track and field team took part in the Bethel Open Saturday afternoon in Arden Hills, Minn. Gustavus senior Kaelene Lundstrum led the way with three first place finishes. Lundstrum won the 55 meter hurdles (8.88), shot put (39-8 3/4), and high jump (5-4 1/4).

Kaelene Lundstrum Named MIAC Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week

Gustavus Adolphus junior Kaelene Lundstrum (Bird Island, Minn./BOLD) was named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week for the week ending May 3, 2009. Lundstrum captured first place in the MIAC Heptathlon with a seven event point total of 4,550 points. The score was an NCAA provisional qualifying mark and ranks fifth among Division III competitors.

Kaelene Lundstrum Wins MIAC Heptathlon Title, Janey Helland Finishes Third

Gustavus junior Kaelene Lundstrum captured first place in the heptathlon at the MIAC Multi-Event Championships which were held at Carleton College on Thursday and Friday. Lundstrum tallied a total of 4,550 points to defeat defending heptathlon champion Leah Kay of Concordia by 61 points. Lundstrum's total is the third highest in Division III this season and provisionally qualifies her for the NCAA Outdoor Championships.

Gustavus Adolphus junior Kaelene Lundstrum (Bird Island, Minn.) has been named the Outstanding Women's Field Athlete at the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships after winning titles in the pentathlon and the high jump. Lundstrum also as earned the Women's Outstanding Performance of the Meet for her performance in the pentathlon.

Women’s Indoor Track and Field Captures First Place At The Meet Of The Hearts

Junior Kaelene Lundstrum won three events to lead the Gustavus women's indoor track and field team to a first place finish with 178 points at the five-team Meet of the Hearts hosted by Carleton College. The Gusties took first in six events as they finished 44 points ahead of second place Luther's 134 points. Other schools at the meet included Carleton, Hamline, and Macalester, which tallied 96 points, 66 points, and 42 points, respectively.

Kaelene Lundstrum Finishes Second in Heptathlon at NCAA Track Championships, Shatters School Record

Gustavus sophomore Kaelene Lundstrum (Bird Island, Minn.) finished second in the heptathlon at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Championships taking place at the University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh. Lundstrum, who led through five of the seven events, was edged by Amy Reed of Messiah College with 5,111 points. Lundstrum's total of 4,762 points shattered her own Gustavus mark of 4,430 points, while also breaking the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference mark of 4,668 points.

Shanna Dawson and Kaelene Lundstrum Set To Participate in NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships This Weekend

Senior Shanna Dawson and sophomore Kaelene Lundstrum have both qualified for the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships which will take place this Friday and Saturday at Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio. Dawson qualified in the pole vault with a height of 11 feet, 11 3/4 inches, while Lundstrum qualified in the high jump at a height of 5 feet, 6 inches.
