Holtan, Veldman Named October Student-Athletes of the Month

Volleyball setter Nora Holtan (Sr., Rochester, Minn.) and football quarterback Michael Veldman (Sr., Becker, Minn.) have been named Gustavus Male and Female Student-Athletes of the Month, which is voted on by the Gustavus Sports Information Department and presented by Thrivent Financial.

Veldman Named MIAC Offensive Player of the Week

Michael Veldman (Sr., Becker, Minn.) passed for 417 yards - the second most in his career - and accounted for five total touchdowns as Gustavus cruised to a 62-28 win at Carleton for the Gusties' fourth consecutive victory. For his performance, Veldman has been named MIAC Football Offensive Player of the Week.

The Gustavus football team Saturday afternoon scored early and often, cruising to a 62-28 victory over Carleton for its fourth consecutive victory, improving to 5-3 overall and 4-2 in the MIAC. The Knights fall to 3-6 overall and 2-5 in the league.

The Gustavus football team is looking to extend its three-game winning streak Saturday as it travels to Carleton for a 1 p.m. MIAC matchup. The Gusties enter the game 4-3 overall and 3-2 in the MIAC, while the Knights are 3-5 overall and 2-4 in the league.

Jacob Lamb Named MIAC Special Teams Athlete of the Week

Jacob Lamb (Jr., Madison Lake, Minn.) was a perfect 6-for-6 on extra points in challenging kicking conditions as Gustavus defeated Augsburg for the program's 500th victory all-time. Lamb battled 24-mile-per-hour sustained winds to match his career-high. For his performance, Lamb has been named MIAC Special Teams Athlete of the Week. 

Football Earns 500th All-Time Win in Shutout Fashion, 42-0 Over Augsburg

Another strong defensive performance paired with a scoring outburst in the first half propelled the Gustavus football team to a 42-0 shutout victory over Augsburg on Saturday afternoon at Hollingsworth Field. The convincing win marks the 500th all-time victory for the Gustavus football program, which is in its 102nd season. Gustavus is now one of 57 NCAA Division III institutions with at least 500 wins.

Football Seeking 500th All-Time Win Saturday at Home vs. Augsburg

The Gustavus football team is aiming for its third straight and 500th all-time victory Saturday as it hosts Augsburg University at 1 p.m. at Hollingsworth Field. The Gusties are 3-3 overall and 2-2 in the MIAC, while the Auggies are 2-5 overall and 0-5 in the league.

Panning Named MIAC Special Teams Athlete of the Week

Brice Panning (Jr., Hamburg, Minn.) fielded a punt at the Gustie 42-yard line and returned it 58 yards for a score in the second quarter of Gustavus's 42-14 win at Hamline. The punt return touchdown is the first by Gustavus since Ethan Armstrong did so in 2006 against Macalester. For his performance, Panning received MIAC Special Teams Athlete of the Week honors. 

Special Teams Shine, Football Beats Hamline 42-14

Two blocked punts, one recovered for a touchdown, and a punt return touchdown highlighted the Gustavus football team’s 42-14 win at Hamline on Saturday afternoon. The Gusties also had three rushing touchdowns and surpassed 400 yards of total offense for the first time this season to move to .500 at 3-3 overall and 2-2 in the MIAC.

Football Travels to Hamline Saturday

The Gustavus football team is set to take on Hamline University at 1 p.m. Saturday at Klas Field. The Gusties, coming off a 27-14 win against Concordia, are 2-3 overall and 1-2 in the MIAC, while the Pipers, coming off a 42-26 loss at Carleton, are 0-6 overall and 0-4 in the league.
