Baseball Claims First MIAC Sweep of Season Over Concordia
The Gustavus baseball team Thursday claimed its first MIAC sweep of the season with a pair of victories over Concordia. Cole Pengilly (So., Le Sueur, Minn.) hit a two-run walkoff home run in game one and Charlie Hutchinson (So., Maple Grove, Minn.) tossed a complete game four-hitter in game two for the sweep.

The Gustavus baseball team will host Concordia for a doubleheader at 2:30 p.m. Thursday and travel to Carleton for a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday. The Gustavus baseball team Tuesday lost 6-0 to St. Thomas in the opener of a doubleheader and game two was suspended after the 10th inning tied 5-5 due to darkness. The game will pick up at a later date in the top of the 11th with the Tommies coming to bat.

The Gustavus baseball team took on Bethel in a doubleheader on Saturday, splitting the series. The Royals took game one 9-2 before the Gusties won game two 4-3. With the results the Gusties move to 11-7 and 2-2 in the MIAC while the Royals move to 11-8 overall and 3-3 in the league.
