Softball Extends Winning Streak With Victories Over MIT and UW-Whitewater
The Gustavus softball team finished off its Spring Break trip in fine fashion Wednesday with wins over the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (7-0) and UW-Whitewater (7-1) at the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic in Cape Coral, Florida. The Gusties, 6-4 overall, have won six in a row and are scheduled to open the MIAC schedule Saturday, April 1 with a doubleheader at Augsburg.
Softball Evens Record With Wins Over Colby and Fredonia State
The Gustavus Adolphus softball team saw its record evened at 4-4 Monday with a pair of wins at the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic in Cape Coral, Florida. The Gusties used a pair of three-run innings to move past Colby 7-4 in the morning and then came back to post a 5-1 win over Fredonia State (N.Y.). Gustavus will have an off day Tuesday before wrapping up its Spring Break trip with games against Massachusetts Institute of Technology and UW-Whitewater on Wednesday.
Women’s Golf Sixth After Day One of NCAA Fall Preview
The Gustavus women's golf team sits in sixth place following day one of the NCAA Division III Fall Preview hosted by Oglethorpe University. The Gusties fired a 18-hole total of 368 and are three shots behind the host school. Breanne Staples shot the low round of the day for the Gusties with a 41-43--84 and is tied for fourth place individually, just three shots out of the lead. Eight-time defending national champion Methodist leads the field after firing a team score of 333 on day one.
