Women’s Hockey Drops Top-10 Matchup Against UW-River Falls

In a matchup of top-10 nationally ranked teams, No. 6 Gustavus women's hockey came up short against No. 5 UW-River Falls on Wednesday night in a 6-3 decision at Don Roberts Ice Rink. The Gusties drop to 7-1 overall, while the Falcons improve to 9-1. 

Four Gusties Named D3football.com All-Region

D3football.com released its regional awards on Wednesday and four Gustavus football players received recognition on the All-Region 6 Team. Zach Jakes (Sr., North Mankato) is First Team Defense, Andrew Abegglen (Jr., Mound) is Second Team Offense, Carson Dekam (So., Owatonna) is Second Team Defense, and Ezekiel Sundberg (Sr., Lakewood, Colo.) is Third Team Defense. 

Schwartz Selected CoSIDA Academic All-America

Gustavus men’s soccer player Cole Schwartz (Sr., Jakarta, Indonesia) has been selected to the 2021 CoSIDA Academic All-America Men’s Soccer Second Team, which was announced Wednesday. Academic All-America Teams recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.

Donnelly Named MIAC Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week

Elizabeth Donnelly (Sr., Langley, Wash.) won the 800-meter run at the Chuck Peterson Open on Saturday, setting the Gustavus school record with a time of 2:15.48. Donnelly's time is currently the fastest in NCAA Division III this season. For her performance, Donnelly has been named the MIAC Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.

Men’s Basketball Wins Home Opener 84-67, Feahn Impresses with 29 Points

SAINT PETER, Minn. - The Gustavus men's basketball team hosted its home opener on Saturday afternoon against the Macalester Scots where they took an 84-67 and improve to 4-4 overall and 2-2 in the MIAC. Kaleb Feahn impressed with 29 points in the victory while Jake Guse had a team high 10 rebounds.

The Gustavus women’s basketball team won its fifth consecutive game Saturday afternoon, beating Macalester 71-63 to improve to 5-1 overall and 4-0 in the MIAC.

Swimming and Diving in First After Day One of Pioneer Classic

GRINNELL, Iowa. - The Gustavus men's and women's swimming and diving teams got off to a strong start in opening events on Friday night at the Pioneer Classic. The  Gustie women currently lead the meet out of the eight competing teams with a score of 689.5 while the Gustie men are also slotted in first with a score of 591.
