Pedersen Earns Third Team PING All-America, Ullan Honorable Mention

The Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) announced its second, third, and honorable mention 2022 Division III PING All-America Teams on Thursday and two Gustavus golfers earned recognition. Jacob Pedersen (Sr., Minnetonka) earned Third Team honors while Max Ullan (Sr., Blaine) was selected as honorable mention. 

Hanson Garners ABCA/Rawlings and D3baseball.com First Team All-America Honors

Gustavus first baseman Jack Hanson (Sr., Minnetonka) was named First Team All-America by D3baseball.com, which was announced Wednesday morning. Hanson earns the program's fifth All-America honor and second consecutive after teammate Bryce Novak (Jr., Cleveland) was named Third Team All-America last season. Hanson is the first Gustie to receive First Team All-America honors since Tony Konicek repeated as a First Team selection in 2006 and 2007. 

Randy Stuckey Named WGCA Assistant Coach of the Year

The Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) announced the 2021-22 national coaching awards for Division III women’s collegiate golf on Tuesday and Gustavus assistant coach Randy Stuckey was named the Division III Golf Pride WGCA Assistant Coach of the Year. 

Hanson Named ABCA and D3baseball.com Region 9 Player of the Year, Mocchi and Novak Earn All-Region

The 2022 ABCA/Rawlings and D3baseball.com regional awards were released Tuesday and three Gustavus baseball players received recognition. Jack Hanson (Sr., Minnetonka) highlighted the honors by being named ABCA/Rawlings Region 9 Position Player of the Year and the D3baseball.com Region 9 Player of the Year. Ethan Mocchi (Sr., Champlin) was named Second Team All-Region by both ABCA/Rawlings and D3baseball.com, while Bryce Novak (Jr., Cleveland) was named Second Team by D3baseball.com and Third Team by ABCA/Rawlings. 

Women’s Track & Field Takes Fifth at NCAA Outdoor Championships

The Gustavus women's track & field team took fifth place at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday at the SPIRE Institute. The Gusties claimed All-America honors in all four events they competed in, highlighted by a national championship in the 100-hurdles by Birgen Nelson (Jr., Edina).

Poe Earns All-America, Donnelly and Nelson Qualify for Finals at NCAA Championships

Gustavus women's track & field was well-represented Friday at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships with an All-American performance and two finals qualifiers. 

Nelson Qualifies for 400H Finals at NCAA Championships

Gustavus hurdler Birgen Nelson (Jr., Edina) cruised to victory in heat three of the 400-hurdles Thursday at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, qualifying for Saturday's final. 

Donnelly, Nelson Selected CoSIDA Academic All-District

The 2021-22 Academic All-District Women’s Track & Field/Cross Country Teams, selected by CoSIDA, were released Thursday and two Gustavus student-athletes received recognition. Elizabeth Donnelly (Sr., Langely, Wash.) and Birgen Nelson (Jr., Edina) earned CoSIDA Academic All-District honors, recognizing the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom.

Aney, Budde, Raut to Compete at NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships

Gustavus men's tennis student-athletes Nick Aney (Sr., Rochester), Alex Budde (Jr., Menomonee Falls, Wis.), and Indraneel Raut (Sr., Oshkosh, Wis.) will compete at the NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Championship on May 27-29 at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla.

Nelson Named USTFCCCA North Region Women’s Track Athlete of the Year

The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released its regional awards Tuesday and Gustavus hurdler Birgen Nelson (Jr., Edina) was selected as the Division III North Region Women's Track Athlete of the Year.
