Bergmeyer Named MIAC Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week

Jack Bergmeyer helped the Gusties to a perfect MIAC weekend, defeating Macalester 8-1 and Saint John's 9-0. Bergmeyer was 2-0 in the No. 1 singles spot in both matches and picked up two doubles wins over the Scots and the Johnnies to lead the Gusties to a 6-0 MIAC record. For his performance, Bergmeyer was named MIAC Athlete of the Week.

Split Squads Get the Job Done for Men’s Tennis

The Gustavus men's tennis team was the definition of depth on Sunday, splitting the team into three separate groups across Minnesota, Wisconsin, and South Dakota, finishing the day going 3-0 in all of the matches. One team of Gusties defeated Augustana 4-3 in South Dakota, while another gained an identical 4-3 victory over Cardinal Stritch in Wisconsin. Back home in Saint Peter, the Gusties hosted Saint John's for a MIAC matchup and sent the Johnnies home with a 9-0 loss.

Gusties Grab 9-0 MIAC Victory over Concordia

The Gustavus women's tennis team took to Fargo, N.D. Sunday morning for a MIAC match-up against Concordia, and came away with a 9-0 victory over the Cobbers.

Softball Wraps Up Florida Trip Going 1-1

The Gusties finished their final day of competition in Florida with a split, falling to Colby College 5-4 before erupting for 12 runs in a 12-4 victory over Westminster. 

Men’s Tennis Defeats Macalester, Falls to No. 6 Chicago

The Gustavus men's tennis team sent two squads for a pair of road matches Saturday, meeting Macalester in St. Paul and facing No. 6 University of Chicago for the second time this season in Milwaukee. The Gusties defeated Macalester 8-1 and fell to U Chicago 7-2. 

Gusties Split with Hope and Washington & Jefferson on Day Three in Florida

The Gusties picked up a split on their third day of competition in Florida, defeating falling to Hope by a score of 3-2 before defeating Washington & Jefferson by an impressive 8-1 score. 

Gusties Dominate Eagles in Home Opener

Thanks to unplayable conditions at Reynolds Field field in St. Paul, the Gusties were treated to their home opener a week early — and they certainly made it count. Allowing only four hits and scoring nine runs on eight hits of their own, the Gusties sent the Eagles home with a 9-0 loss, improving to 4-8 on the season. 

Softball Comes Up Empty on Day Two of Florida Trip

The Gustavus softball team came up empty on the second game day of the team's Florida trip, falling to Luther 3-0 and Millikin 6-2.
