Women’s Track And Field Finishes Strong On Final Day To Earn Sixth Place At NCAA Championships
The Gustavus women's track and field team used three top-eight results to finish a program-best sixth place with 27 points on the final day of the 2009 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Marietta, Ohio. Wartburg College won the team title with 52 points. Kaelene Lundstrum (Jr., Bird Island, Minn.) and Sam Broderius (So., Hector, Minn.) finished second in the high jump and seventh in the shot put, respectively, while the 4x400 meter relay placed eighth.

Gustavus Adolphus senior Lisa Brown (Lake Crystal, Minn.) won her third national javelin title at the 2009 NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships with a stadium record effort of 158 feet on Thursday afternoon. Brown, who also finished second in 2007, is the second female athlete in NCAA Division III history to win three national javelin championships joining Renee Erickson of Concordia-Moorhead. The NCAA Championships are being hosted by Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio.
Andrea Brown and Rachael Click Named To 2008 MIAC Softball All-Tournament Team
The 13-player Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) All-Tournament Team for the 2008 MIAC Softball Playoffs was announced on May 5, and included Andrea Brown and Rachael Click from Gustavus. The Gusties were eliminated playoff contention after suffering a 3-0 loss to Bethel and a 7-6 loss to Augsburg.

Gustavus Adolphus College senior men's soccer player Trevor Brown (Madison, Wisc.) has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Men's Soccer Team as released by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Brown is a College Division Second Team selection.
Lisa Brown Places Second in Javelin Throw, Sari Lindeman Takes Eighth in Triple Jump at NCAA Championships
Gustavus Adolphus College sophomore Lisa Brown placed second in the javelin throw and junior Sari Lindeman took eighth in the triple jump Saturday at the 2007 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Oshkosh, Wis. Brown, the defending national champion in the event, uncorked a season-best throw of 152 feet, 3 inches on her final attempt, while Lindeman equalled her own school record with a leap of 37-8.
Lisa Brown Ties for 13th in Javelin Throw at Drake Relays
Competing in a field filled with mostly Division I talent, Gustavus Adolphus sophomore Lisa Brown finished in a tie for 13th place in the javelin throw at the Drake Relays Friday. Brown, Gustavus' only competitor at this year's Drake Relays, posted a distance of 138 feet, 6 inches on her second of three throws. Erma Gene Evans of Texas-El Paso won the event with a throw of 179-1.

Gustavus Adolphus College sophomore thrower Lisa Brown (Lake Crystal, Minn./Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial) has been named MIAC Women's Field Athlete of the Week for the Week ending April 15, 2007. Brown automatically qualified for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships in the javelin throw with a facility-record throw of 146 feet, 1 inch at the Lee Krough Invitational Saturday.
Softball Sweeps St. Olaf 8-0, 12-2
The Gustavus softball team extended its winning streak to 12 games by sweeping St.Olaf by the scores of 8-0 and 12-2 Monday afternoon in St Peter. The Gusties improved to 16-2 overall and 8-0 in the MIAC. Rachael Click led Gustavus offensively as she went 4-for-6 with a home run and eight RBI in the two games. Betsie Collins threw a three-hit shutout in game one, while Callie Nelsen scattered four hits and picked up the win in game two.

Gustavus Adolphus first-year Lisa Brown captured the national title in the javelin throw Saturday at the 2006 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Benedictine University in Lisle, Ill. Brown's Division III season best toss of 154 feet, 6 inches bettered her own Gustavus record by nearly 18 feet. Ashley Cronen (fifth) and Tanner Miest (eighth) added top-eight finishes in the 800-meter run and the 110-meter hurdles, respectively.
