Sherden, Taylor And Holtan Highlight 2015 MIAC Volleyball Awards
The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its 2015 Volleyball Awards on Wednesday and Gustavus took home three of the top four honors. Rachelle Sherden earned Coach-of-the-Year, Alyssa Taylor (Sr., Trimont, Minn.) earned Player-of-the-Year and Nora Holtan (Fy., Rochester, Minn.) earned Rookie-of-the-Year. Along with Taylor and Holtan, Brittany Luethmers (Fy., Prior Lake, Minn.) and Taylor Trautman (Jr., Hutchinson, Minn.) were named to the All-Conference Team. This year’s four All-MIAC selections for Gustavus marks the second time in program history that four Gusties were selected.
Volleyball Runs The MIAC Table 11-0 With Straight Set Win Over Saint Mary’s
The Gustavus volleyball team beat Saint Mary’s in straight sets 25-17, 25-21 and 25-23 Saturday afternoon to finish the regular season 25-2 overall and a perfect 11-0 in the MIAC. The decisive victory gave the Gusties their 25th straight win, an undisputed regular season conference championship and marked the first perfect conference record since the 1985 team went 11-0 in the league.
Volleyball Hosts Saint Mary’s Saturday For Showdown Of MIAC’s Top Two
The Gustavus volleyball team is set to host Saint Mary's University at 3 p.m. Saturday in what may be a playoff preview. The Gusties enter the match with an overall record of 24-2 and are 10-0 in the MIAC, which has them locked as the No. 1 seed for playoffs, while the Cardinals are 19-8 overall and 8-2 in the league, and fighting for the No. 2 seed.
Volleyball Claims MIAC Title Outright, Tops Hamline In Four Sets
The Gustavus volleyball team claimed the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular season championship outright Wednesday night as it defeated Hamline University in four sets 25-19, 25-27, 25-19 and 25-23. The conference title is Gustavus’ first since 1986 and fifth overall. The Gusties also extended their program record win streak to 24 matches and now own a 24-2 overall record with a 10-0 mark in the MIAC.

UPDATE: After Saturday's results, Gustavus has clinched at least a share of the MIAC regular season championship. One more win or a loss by Saint Mary's would clinch an outright championship. This is Gustavus' first conference title since 1986 and fifth overall (1982, '84, '85, '86 and 2015).

Volleyball Sets Program Record For Consecutive Wins, Beats Simpson And Loras
A 31-year old record stands no longer as the Gustavus volleyball team won its 20th and 21st straight matches Saturday, setting a new program record for consecutive victories. The Gusties defeated both Simpson College and Loras College in straight sets, breaking the previous program record of 20 consecutive wins to start the 1984 season. The Gusties are now 21-2 on the season.

The Gustavus volleyball team is set to host its second quadrangular of the season on Saturday. Teams participating this weekend include the Gusties, Simpson College, Loras College and Hamline University.

The Gusties won by set scores of 25-15, 25-6, 22-25 and 25-14 to increase their win streak to 19 matches, which is one behind the program record.
