Men’s Golf Places Sixth At Saint John’s Fall Invite

The Gustavus men’s golf team Sunday concluded play at the Saint John’s Fall Invitational, played at Greystone Golf Club, taking sixth place out of 17 teams. The Gusties posted a 311-300-611, which was 18 stokes off the winning team and host Saint John’s. The University of Manitoba shared medalist honors by carding a 593 as well, while St. Thomas took third with a 599.

Men’s Golf In Seventh After Round One At UW-Eau Claire Invite

The Gustavus men’s golf team sits in seventh place out of 16 teams after the first round of the Frank Wrigglesworth Invite, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Eau Clarie. The Gusties shot a 310 (+22), which is 13 shots of the leader Augsburg. Viterbo and UW-Eau Claire are tied for second after shooting 303.

Men’s Golf Takes Seventh At Transylvania Invite

The Gustavus men’s golf team improved on its first round shot total by five strokes for a round-two score of 293 on Sunday, but did not gain any ground on the leaderboard, finishing in seventh place at the Transylvania Invite. The Gusties shot a 298-293-591. Guilford won the event with a 570, while Greensboro took second at 575 and Ohio Wesleyan placed third at 577.

Men’s Golfers Garner PING All-Region, Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar Accolades

The Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) on Tuesday announced the Division III PING All-Region Teams as well as the Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars and four Gustavus men’s golfers received accolades. Chris Captain (Jr., Rochester, Minn.) and Ben Hauge (Fy., Ramsey, Minn.) were named to the 15-member All-Central Region Team, while Captain, Alec Aunan (Jr., Rock Island, Ill.), and Sam Majka (Sr., Wayzata, Minn.) were named All-America Scholars.

Three Gusties Named MIAC Men’s Golf All-Conference, Hauge Freshman Of The Year

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its men’s golf postseason awards Monday and three Gusties were recognized. Ben Hauge (Fy., Ramsey, Minn.) highlighted the awards as he was named MIAC Freshman-of-the-Year, while Chris Captain (Jr., Rochester, Minn.) and Alec Aunan (Jr., Rock Island, Ill.) join Hauge on the All-Conference Team.

Men’s Golf Takes Third At Bobby Krig Invite

In the second round Monday, the No. 20 Gustavus men’s golf team posted the lowest round of the day at the Bobby Krig Invitational to move into second place and within striking range of the title, but couldn’t replicate the result in the third and final round, finishing third with a score of 887 (+39). No. 15 nationally ranked Illinois Wesleyan won the event with an 875, while No. 11 Saint John’s took second at 883.

The Gustavus men’s golf team carded a team score of 307, repeating round one's 19-over-par score to finish tied for ninth of 15 squads in the final round of the Wynlakes Intercollegiate Invite Tuesday at Wynlakes Golf & Country Club.

Men’s Golf Takes Second At MIAC Championships, Captain Ties For Third

The Gustavus men's golf team wrapped up its fall season Monday with a second place finish at the MIAC Championships, carding a 297-302-298 (897) at Bunker Hills Golf Club. Saint John's won the league championships with a 298-284-297 (879), while Bethel took third with a 302-303-300 (905).

The Gustavus men’s golf team sits in third place after day one at the Transylvania Fall Invitational, played at the University Club of Kentucky. The Gusties shot a 597, 21-over par Saturday, which is 15 strokes behind the leader, Greensboro. Wittenberg is two stroke behind in second.
