Miest, Brown Receive MIAC Honors; Thorkelson Named Women’s Outdoor Coach of the Year

Junior Tanner Miest, first-year Lisa Brown, and Gustavus head track and field coach Tom Thorkelson were each honored Wednesday as the 2006 MIAC Outdoor Track and Field Awards were released by the league. Miest captured the MIAC Men's Outstanding Track Performance, while Brown was honored with the MIAC Women's Outstanding Field Performance. Thorkelson was named MIAC Women's Outdoor Track and Field Coach of the Year after leading the Gustavus women to a second place finish at the MIAC Championships.
