Ryan McPartland made a layup to tie the contest at 52-52 with four minutes remaining, but Gustavus only managed to hit a pair of three-pointers the rest of the way. The Gusties, who dropped to 9-9 overall and 8-5 in the MIAC, had three players reach double-figures, including Sam Paulson with 15, Jesse Van Sickle with 12, and Ryan McPartland with 10.

First year forward Kathryn DelZoppo registered the first two-goal game of her career to lead the Gustie attack. Emily Klatt picked up the win in nets extending her season record to 7-0-0. Gustavus is now 11-1-3 overall and 8-0-2 in the MIAC.

The Gustavus women's hockey team continued its winning ways with a convincing 7-1 win over Augsburg at Don Roberts Ice Rink in St. Peter on Friday night. The Gusties, who out-shot the Auggies 66-8, scored multiple goals in each period including two in the first, three in the second, and two in the third. The Dynan brothers registered six points on three goals and three assists as the Gustavus men's hockey team defeated Augsburg 4-2 on Friday night in Minneapolis, Minn. Patrick Dynan tallied a goal and two assists, while Rory recorded a goal and an assist and Casey scored a goal. Gustie goaltender Josh Swartout made 25 saves in the win as Gustavus moved its overall mark to 11-7-0 and 6-3-0 in the MIAC. The Auggies fell to 3-13-0 overall and 2-5-0 in the league.

The Gustavus men's basketball team suffered its first loss in the MIAC as Jon Cassens hit a layup with :03.5 remaining to give Augsburg a 52-50 win over the Gusties on Wednesday at Gus Young Court. Gustavus had a ten-minute scoring drought in the first half as it went into halftime trailing 23-18 after shooting 7-of-29 (24.1 percent) from the floor. The Gusties dropped to 3-3 overall and 2-1 in league play, while the Auggies improved to 4-3 overall and 2-1 in the conference standings.

Men’s Soccer Drops MIAC Playoff Match To Augsburg 3-0

The Gustavus men's soccer team saw its 2008 season come to a close with a 3-0 loss to Augsburg in a MIAC Playoff game in St. Peter on Tuesday afternoon. The Auggies exploded for three goals in the second half to claim their first win over the Gusties since Oct. 22, 1997. Gustavus, which finished second in the MIAC in regular season play, completed its season with a mark of 13-5-1.

Senior Ray Wilson Sets Rushing Record As Football Defeats Augsburg 34-31

The Gustavus football team controlled the line of scrimmage as the Gusties rushed for 354 yards in a 34-31 victory over Augsburg College on Saturday afternoon in St. Peter. Senior running back Ray Wilson (Brooklyn Park, Minn.) set a single-game record with 258 rushing yards on 28 carries and two touchdowns, including the eventual game-winning touchdown on an 81-yard dash.

Football to Host Augsburg For Hall of Fame Weekend

The Gustavus football team hosts Augsburg College at Lloyd Hollingsworth Field on Saturday with kick-off at 1 pm. The Gusties and the Auggies enter the game with identical 4-2 overall and 2-2 MIAC records. Last week, Gustavus won its second straight game by defeating previously unbeaten Carleton College 30-29 in overtime in Northfield. Augsburg suffered its second consecutive loss falling to Concordia 40-18 in Minneapolis.

The Gustavus men's soccer team registered only one shot on goal against Augsburg on Wednesday night, but the Gusties made that one count as Ben Ikeda's goal from 35 yards out in the 77th minute proved to be the difference. Gustavus goalkeeper Luke Strom made three saves and recorded his sixth shutout of the season. The Gusties are now 9-2-1 overall and 5-1-0 in the MIAC.
