Softball Lands Four on MIAC All-Conference Team

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) released its softball postseason awards on Tuesday and three Gustavus student-athletes were named All-Conference. Kayla Herda, Madi Mueller, Piper Otto, and Maizie Anderson were selected as All-Conference, while Caitlin Olafsson was named honorable mention.

The Gustie softball season came to an end Saturday, suffering a 1-0 loss to MIAC Regular Season Champions Bethel. The Gusties and Royals combined for only six hits in the entire game, as Piper Otto and Bethel pitcher Kayla Simacek put on a clinic in the semifinal matchup, combining for 15 strikeouts.

The Gustavus softball team put together a strong defensive performance against St. Catherine in the opening round of the MIAC Playoffs, defeating the Wildcats 4-1 to advance to the semifinals.
