Athletics Department Announces 2018 Annual Golf Tournament Dates

The Gustavus Athletics Department has announced the dates for its 2018 annual golf tournaments, which serve as social gatherings and fund raisers for a number of different teams. Select teams organize their own golf tournaments.

Men’s Golf Seniors Earn Multiple Postseason Awards

Gustavus men's golf seniors Alec Aunan (Rock Island, Ill.) and Chris Captain (Rochester, Minn.) recently earned accolades from both the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and the Golf Coaches Association of America. Aunan and Captain were both named MIAC All-Conference as well as Division III Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars, while Aunan was listed as a member of the Division III PING All-Central Region Team.

Men’s Golf Finishes Season In Fifth Place At Bobby Krig Invite

The Gustavus men’s golf team concluded its season Saturday by hosting the Bobby Krig Invitational at the New Prague Golf Course. The Gusties took fifth out of nine teams, posting a 303 (+19). Concordia-Moorhead won the event with a two-under 282.

Men’s Golf Wins Home Spring Invite

The Gustavus men’s golf team won its first home meet of the spring season Friday at the Le Sueur Country Club. The Gusties carded a 291 (+11), seven strokes ahead of second place St. Thomas, who is ranked first in the nation according to the Golfstat Top 25 ranking. 

Men’s Golf Takes Fourth At Saint John’s Spring Invite

The Gustavus men’s golf team took fourth place out of 10 teams Monday at the Saint John’s Spring Invitational. The Gusties finished with a 304-305-609, which was 14 strokes behind the winner, St. Thomas.

Men’s Golf In Fourth Place After Round One At Saint John’s Invite

After a rough front nine Sunday, the Gustavus men’s golf team got back on track on the back nine to card a first round total of 304 at the Saint John’s Spring Invitational. The Gusties are seven strokes off the lead, which is held by host Saint John’s at 297.

The Gustavus men's golf team took a fourth place finish out of 17 teams at the Take Back the Night Challenge, hosted by Millikin University, firing a round two score of 294 to finish at 600 (+28).

Men’s Golf Tied For Sixth Place After Day One At Millikin Invite

After day one at the Take Back the Night Challenge, hosted by Millikin University, the Gustavus men’s golf team is tied for sixth place out of 17 teams. The Gusties carded a first round total of 306, which is 22 strokes behind the leader Illinois Wesleyan.

As the winter weather in Minnesota continues its unrelenting pressure into mid-April, spring sports teams at Gustavus have been forced to make a number of changes to events originally scheduled for Saturday, April 14.

Men’s Golf Bobby Krig Invitational Cancelled

Due to forecasted inclement weather and unplayable course conditions, the Gustavus men’s golf team has cancelled the Bobby Krig Invitational, which was scheduled for Sunday at Ridges at Sand Creek in Jordan, Minn. and Monday at the Le Sueur Country Club in Le Sueur, Minn. The event may be rescheduled for a later date.
