Baseball Schedule Changes

Due to the forecast of cold temperatures over the weekend, Saturday's MIAC baseball doubleheader between Gustavus and Hamline has been moved to Monday, April 9 at 1:30 p.m. in St. Peter. The nonconference baseball doubleheader with Buena Vista originally scheduled for Monday has been moved to Sunday, April 29.

Baseball Doubleheader at Wartburg Postponed and Moved to May 6

Due to heavy rains that passed through the Waverly, Iowa, area late last night and early this morning, Tuesday's non-conference baseball doubleheader between Gustavus Adolphus and Wartburg has been postponed to Sunday, May 6, with a 1 p.m. start at Hertel Field in Waverly.

Baseball Splits With St. Thomas to Open MIAC Slate

The Gustavus Adolphus College baseball team outhit the University of St. Thomas 20-10 Monday afternoon but a pair of key errors in game one left the Gusties with a split in a doubleheader at UST's Koch Diamond. The Tommies took game one, 3-2, in ten innings, while the Gusties took the nightcap by a 6-3 score. Tony Konicek led the Gusties going 6-for-9 on the day. Gustavus (7-5, 1-1 MIAC) will step out of league play to face Wartburg Tuesday in Waverly, Iowa.

Baseball Doubleheader At St. Thomas Rescheduled to Monday

Due to rain and wet field, the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference baseball doubleheader between Gustavus Adolphus College and the University of St. Thomas scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, March 31 in St. Paul and rescheduled for Sunday, April 1, have been postponed again to Monday, April 2 at 2:30 p.m. at UST's Koch Diamond in St. Paul.

Baseball Edged by Minnesota State, Mankato 8-7

The Gustavus Adolphus College baseball team fell to 7-4 on the season following an 8-7 loss to Minnesota State University Tuesday afternoon in Mankato. Mike DesLauriers led the Gusties with a 3-for-5 effort at the plate, but MSU's Zach Danelson provided the game's big hit--a solo home run in the sixth inning--to give the Mavericks their final lead. Gustavus will open MIAC play Saturday at St. Thomas.

Baseball Sweeps Middlebury to Close Out Spring Trip

The Gustavus Adolphus College baseball team wrapped up its Spring Trip with a doubleheader sweep of Middlebury College Sunday at the Snedigar Complex in Chandler, Ariz. The Gusties took game one 4-0 as Andrew Hoffer threw a complete-game two-hitter. Gustavus posted an 11-4 win in game two. The Gusties, who finished with a 5-1 record in Arizona, open MIAC play Saturday, March 31 at the University of St. Thomas.

Baseball Moves to 3-1 on Spring Trip With 13-0 Win Over Thomas (Maine)

The Gustavus Adolphus College baseball team moved to 3-1 on the Spring Trip with a 13-0 win Saturday afternoon over Thomas College (Maine) in Chandler, Ariz. The teams were originally scheduled for a doubleheader, but weather and scheduling conflicts forced the teams to play a single nine-inning game. Freshman Adam Bren scattered seven hits in seven innings to record his first collegiate win. Gustavus will face Middlebury in a doubleheader Sunday to wrap up their Spring Trip.

Baseball Tripped Up By Southern Maine 8-6

The Gustavus Adolphus College baseball team fell 2-1 on its Spring trip with an 8-6 loss to the University of Southern Maine Friday at the Snedigar Complex in Chandler, Ariz. Shea Roehrkasse finished with three hits, including a two-run double in the fifth, while Tony Konicek went 2-for-4 with a triple and a solo home run. The Gusties will face Thomas (Me.) in a doubleheader Saturday at the Snedigar Complex.

Baseball Sweeps UW-Whitewater 10-9, 4-0 to Open Spring Trip

The Gustavus Adolphus College baseball team opened its Spring trip to Chandler, Ariz., Thursday evening with a doubleheader sweep over UW-Whitewater. Gustavus took game one 10-9 with a Nate Ruff RBI in the bottom of the seventh and completed the sweep with a rain-shortened 4-0 win in five innings. The Gusties will face Southern Maine in a doubleheader Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. CDT (noon MST).

Baseball to Participate in RussMatt Greater Phoenix Invitational March 22-25

The Gustavus Adolphus College baseball team will take part in the 2007 RussMatt Greater Phoenix Invitational as part of their annual Spring Trip. The Gusties are scheduled to play eight games in four days while in Arizona, facing the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, the University of Southern Maine, Thomas College (Maine) and Middlebury College (Vt.) in doubleheaders. All four doubleheaders are scheduled to be played on field 4 of the Snedigar Complex in Chandler, Ariz.
