Jack Hanson (Jr., Minnetonka) led Gustavus to a 4-1 record last week by batting 11-for-22 (.500) with four runs, three home runs, and 10 runs batted in. For his performance, Hanson has been named MIAC Athlete of the Week.

The Gustavus baseball team swept Bethany Lutheran in a non-conference doubleheader Sunday at the Gustie Baseball Field by scores of 3-0 and 4-3. The Gusties improve to 6-1 overall, while the Vikings drop to 1-8.
Baseball Splits with Saint Mary’s in MIAC Opener
The Gustavus baseball team opened MIAC play Friday at Saint Mary's and came away with a doubleheader split. The Gusties won game one 10-3 and dropped the second game 9-5.
Bats Stay Hot, Baseball Beats St. Scholastica 13-5
The Gustavus baseball team continued to swing hot bats Thursday afternoon, defeating St. Scholastica 13-5 in non-conference action at the Gustie Baseball Field. The Gusties collected 18 hits with 12 RBI while improving to 3-0 overall.

The Gustavus baseball home game scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday (March 24) against Bethany Lutheran is cancelled due to the weather. The Gusties are back in action tomorrow at home against St. Scholastica with the first pitch slated for 2 p.m.
Tuesday Baseball Pushed Back to Thursday
The Gustavus baseball team's home game this Tuesday (March 23) against St. Scholastica is pushed back to Thursday (March 25) due to the forecasted weather. The nine-inning non-conference game begins at 2 p.m. with a junior varsity game to follow.
Updated Spectator Policy for Gustavus Athletic Spring Events
A limited number of fans will be permitted at some Gustavus home sporting events this spring, beginning Tuesday, March 23. The recently updated Gustavus Athletic Department spectator policy for home athletic events this spring applies to baseball, softball, men’s and women’s soccer games, as well as men’s and women’s tennis matches this spring. Spectators will not be allowed at volleyball games, football scrimmages, or track & field events.
Baseball Schedule Update
The home doubleheader on Friday, March 19 against Augsburg is cancelled due to snow on the field, while the Gusties have added a non-conference home game against Bethany Lutheran on Wednesday, March 24.

The Gustavus baseball team swept Crown College in a non-conference doubleheader Friday, winning 8-1 in game one before a convincing 19-2 victory in game two.
2021 Baseball Season Preview
One year removed from a 2020 season that featured just one game before the pandemic struck, the Gustavus baseball team is set to begin its 2021 campaign Friday afternoon at home against Crown College. Since there were no conference games in 2020, the Gusties enter this season as the defending MIAC champions from their 2019 title.
