Alhouni Earns Fourth MIAC Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week Honor

The biggest match of the MIAC men's tennis regular season happened Saturday, when the league's two undefeated teams squared off. Gustavus and star sophomore Mohanad Alhouni (Tripoli, Libya) emerged with an 8-1 win over Carleton to claim the conference title and continue a remarkable run of MIAC success, with Alhouni leading the way with wins at both No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles. For his performance, the MIAC sports information directors honored Alhouni Tuesday with his fourth MIAC Men's Tennis Athlete-of-the-Week award of the 2016 season.

Men’s Golf Earns Third Straight Meet Championship With Win At Saint John’s Invite

One day after senior Andrew Krasaway tied the Gustavus record for lowest individual round in school history, he and his Gustie teammates earned their third consecutive meet championship by taking the Saint John's University title, which finished at the Monticello Country Club on Sunday. The Gusties finished with a three-round total of 859, four strokes ahead of second place University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

In a battle of the MIAC's top teams, the Gustavus Adolphus College softball team was bested by the University of St. Thomas in a doubleheader at South Field on Saturday. The Tommies earned narrow 3-1 and 4-3 wins, respectively to drop the Gusties to 18-9 overall and 9-4 in the conference.

Women’s Tennis Earns 6-0 Win Over Saint Benedict In Rain-Shortened Match

The Gustavus Adolphus College women's tennis team earned a 6-0 victory over the College of Saint Benedict in a match shortened by rain on Saturday afternoon at the Blazer Tennis Complex. With the win, the Gusties move to 17-6 overall and 8-0 in the MIAC.

The Gustavus Adolphus College women’s golf team is in third place after the first round of the Bethel University Spring Invite that is being played at Deer Run Golf Course. The Gusties scored a 317 in the first round and are 11 strokes behind meet leader Carleton. Host Bethel is in second place with a score of 315.

Men’s Tennis Earns 28th Straight MIAC Title With 8-1 Win Over Carleton

The Gustavus Adolphus College men's tennis team earned its 28th straight MIAC Regular Season Championship with an 8-1 victory over Carleton College on Saturday afternoon at the Brown Outdoor Tennis Complex. The Gusties finish their 2016 regular season with an overall record of 22-7 and an MIAC mark of 9-0. With the win, Gustavus locks down the No. 1 seed in the MIAC Playoffs and will host the winner of the No. 4 versus No. 5 seed matchup in the semifinal round on Friday, May 6 at 4:30 p.m. in St. Peter.

Track & Field Teams To Compete In Carleton Relays Saturday

Members of the Gustavus Adolphus College track and field teams will head to Northfield, Minn. on Saturday to compete in the Carleton Relays. The meet will be held at Laird Stadium on the Carleton campus. Fans wanting to follow the action will be able to tune into the live video stream provided by Carleton.

A win over Carleton would guarantee the men their 28th consecutive MIAC Regular Season Championship and also clinch it the No. 1 seed in the upcoming conference playoffs.
