Women’s Hoops Wins Eighth Straight, Completes Sweep of Augsburg

Gustavus women's basketball, ranked No. 25 in the nation, won its eighth-straight game Saturday afternoon, defeating Augsburg 55-43, completing the MIAC sweep of the Auggies. With the win, the Gusties, who sit first in the conference, improve to 16-2 overall and 13-2 in conference play.

Holland Sisters Lead Gusties Past St. Catherine, 3-0

The Gusties completed the sweep of St. Catherine, wrapping up the series with a 3-0 victory at home. With the win, the No. 2 nationally-ranked Gusties improve to 16-2-0 overall and 11-1-0 in MIAC play on the season. The Holland sisters combined for the Gusties' three goals, finishing the weekend with seven combined points.

Gusties Defeat St. Catherine 6-1, Tina Press Eclipses 100 Points

The Gustavus women's hockey team rolled to a 6-1 victory over St. Catherine Friday night, erupting for six unanswered goals after a quick tally by the Wildcats. With the win, the Gusties improve to 15-2-0 overall and 10-1-0 in conference play.

Gusties Post Season-High 183.750 at UW-Eau Claire

The Gustavus gymnastics team combined for a score of 183.750 against UW-Eau Claire, who totaled a score of 184.850 to defeat the Gusties in a WIAC meet Friday night.

Cross Country Earns USTFCCCA Academic Awards

The Gustavus men’s and women’s cross country teams were recognized with academic awards by the USTFCCCA on Thursday. The Gustie men posted a 3.509 GPA while the Gustie women achieved a 3.643 GPA, earning distinction as All-Academic Teams. All-Academic Athletes were also recognized, with Evelyn Villalobos representing the Gustie women.

2023 Men’s Tennis Season Preview

The Gustavus men’s tennis team, which starts the season ranked No. 17 in the nation according to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), takes to the court this Saturday to begin its 2023 spring season.

Gusties Pick Up Key Win Over Bethel, 66-53

The red-hot Gusties, having won six straight, faced a familiar foe on Wednesday night. After all, the Bethel Royals were one of two teams to defeat Gustavus this season, coming from behind to win the MIAC contest, 70-66. But the Gusties were determined to make sure history didn't repeat itself.

Kes Named MIAC Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week

 Madi Kes had a record breaking weekend at the Macalester Vanessa Seljeskog Classic. Kes broke not only her 2022 standing meet record of 11.19 on the triple jump, but, with a distance of 11.70 meters, Kes set a new school record. Kes’ jump was good for first overall in the triple jump, first in the conference, and is the seventh best distance in NCAA Division III this season. On top of that performance, Kes added a fourth place finish in the long jump, good for sixth in the MIAC. For her performance, Kes was named MIAC MIAC Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.

Sanders Named MIAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

Anna Sanders averaged 15.3 points per game, 5.7 rebounds, 3.3 steals per game, and added seven assists during the Gusties perfect week. Against Carleton, Sanders posted 17 points, eight rebounds - including seven defensive - and six steals. For her performance, Sanders was named MIAC Women’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week.

Gustavus track and field competed at the Macalester Vanessa Seljeskog Classic on Satuday, and set a few records in the process.
