Gustavus Adolphus first year player Amanda Cartony scored four goals as the Gustavus women's soccer team went on to defeat Martin Luther College 7-0 on Wednesday afternoon in New Ulm, Minn.

2010 Football Season Preview

The Gustavus football team enters a new decade with a great deal of optimism and energy as the Gusties look to return to the top four of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) in the 2010 season. Second year head coach Peter Haugen welcomes back 34 letterwinners (17 on defense, 16 on offense, and one on special teams) from last year’s squad that finished at 4-6 overall and 3-5 in the MIAC (tie-fourth place).

The Gustauvs women’s golf team shot a team score 329 in the second day of competition to finish runner-up with a two day total of 665 (+85) at the Georgianni Memorial Invite held in Eau Claire, Wis. on Saturday and Sunday.

Late Goal Gives Women’s Soccer 1-0 Win Over St. Scholastica

The Gustavus Adolphus women’s soccer team finished Emblem Advantage Cup undefeated with a narrow 1-0 win over the College of St. Scholastica on Sunday afternoon in Duluth, Minn. The match remained scoreless for more than 80 minutes before Gustavus junior captain Meghan McMillan found the back of the net at the 82:12 mark of the match. Meghan Faricy was credited with the assist, her first of the season, on the game-winning goal.

Women’s Soccer Cruises Past Northland 6-0

After being shutout in the opening match of the 2010 season on Wednesday afternoon, the Gustavus women’s soccer team turned the tables with a 6-0 win over Northern College at the Emblem Advantage Cup on Saturday afternoon in Duluth, Minn. The Gustavus women’s soccer team will conclude the Emblem Advantage Cup on Sunday with a match against St. Scholastica at 4:30 p.m.

Women’s Soccer Falls In Season Opener To UW-Stevens Point 3-0

The Gustavus women’s soccer team opened the 2010 season with a 3-0 loss to non-conference opponent UW-Stevens Point on Wednesday afternoon in Stevens Point, Wis. UW-Stevens Point forward Angela Gallow recorded two goals in the match, while goalkeeper Liz Hunter made four saves on her way to the shutout.

The 2010 Gustavus women’s soccer team will look for a turn-around season in a new decade and improve on its 7-8-3 record (3-7-1 MIAC) and ninth place conference finish of last season. Head coach Mike Stehlik, in his 20th season as the head coach of the Gustavus women’s soccer team, will command another young, but talented, squad.

NCAA Outdoor Track And Field Championships: Day Three Women’s Recap

Gustavus Adolphus senior Kaelene Lundstrum and junior Sam Broderius represented the Gustavus women's outdoor track and field team in the final day of competition at the Division III NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships held on the campus of Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio. Lundstrum competed in the high jump, finishing 16th after clearing 5' 3.75". Broderius competed in the discus, finishing fourth in heat #2 with a throw of 135’ 11”, yet not making the finals. The Gusties finished tied for 44th place after compiling five points at the three-day event.
