Men’s And Women’s Track & Field Takes Part In Drake Alternative

The Gustavus men’s and women’s track and field teams battled through windy conditions throughout the afternoon at the 11th Annual Drake Alternative held in St. Peter, Minn. on Saturday. The men’s (2) and women’s (6) squads combined for eight individual event wins at the meet, as no team scores were kept.

Janey Helland Finishes Fifth In Heptathlon At Drake Relays

Gustavus Adolphus senior track and field standout Janey Helland earned a total of 4,735 points to finish fifth in the heptathlon at the Drake Relays held in Des Moines, Iowa. Helland is the first Gustavus athlete to compete in the heptathlon at the meet. Her score automatically qualifies her for the NCAA Championships and is the second best recorded in NCAA Division III so far this season.

Softball Rolls At Macalester, 13-0 And 18-2

The Gustavus softball team pounded out 30 hits in its doubleheader against Macalester on Thursday afternoon in St. Paul, sweeping the Scots by scores of 13-0 and 18-2. The Gusties, who extended their winning streak to six games with the victories, improve to 22-11-1 overall and 15-2-1. Macalester falls to 8-24 overall and 1-15 in the MIAC.

Beth Hauer Stands Out At Hamline Twilight

Janey Helland In Sixth Place In Heptathlon After First Day At Drake Relays

Gustavus Adolphus senior track and field athlete Janey Helland registered 2,679 points and sits in sixth place after the first day of the heptathlon competition at the Drake Relays being held in Des Moines, Iowa.

Truebenbach And Rentschler Shut Down Augsburg, Softball Sweeps 4-1, 12-0

The Gustavus softball team earned its second consecutive MIAC sweep by taking down Augsburg 4-1 and 12-0 on Monday in St. Peter. Erin Truebenbach and Kate Rentschler were lights out on the hill, allowing a combined three hits on the day. Gustavus improves to 20-11-1 overall and 13-2-1 in the MIAC with the victories.

Softball Back On Track, Sweeps Bethel 9-1, 8-5

With a sweep over Bethel on Saturday afternoon in St. Peter, the Gustavus softball team gained a firm grasp of second place in the conference standings with an overall record of 18-11-1 and a MIAC mark of 11-2-1. Bethel falls to 18-12 overall and 9-5 in the MIAC with the losses.

Men’s Track & Field Takes Part In Hamline Capitol City Championships

The Gustavus men’s track and field team registered 22 individual top-10 finishes at the Capitol City Championships hosted by Hamline University on Thursday in St. Paul. There were no team scores kept at the meet, as Blair Riegel turned in Gustavus’ only win by taking first in the long jump with a leap of 22’ 2.25”.

The Gustavus women’s track team took part in the Capitol City Championships hosted by Hamline University on Thursday in St. Paul. There no team scores kept at the meet, as Sam Broderius, Janey Helland, and Sarah Baker all tallied wins for Gustavus.

Softball Game Versus Bethel Postponed To Saturday

The Gustavus vs. Bethel softball game set to take place on Friday, April 22 at 1:00 p.m. has been postponed to Saturday, April 23.  Game one is set to begin at 12:00 p.m. on the Gustie Softball Field.  The doubleheader is designated as Parents Day. Gustavus Softball Schedule
