The Concordia women’s soccer team scored two first half goals and never looked back in shutting out Gustavus 2-0 in St. Peter, Minn. on Saturday afternoon. The Gusties fall to 1-3-1 overall and 0-2-0 in the MIAC. Concordia improves to 4-2-0 overall and 2-0-0 in the MIAC.
Concordia opened the scoring on a goal by Morgan Bain just four minutes into the match. The Cobbers extended their lead to 2-0 when Kelly Ping found the net 32 minutes into the first half. Neither team was able to score the rest of the contest.
Concordia outshot the Gusties 15-7. Tori Boughton suffered the loss in the nets for the Gusties, while Ashley Liegakos picked up the win for the Cobbers. Boughton recorded nine saves, while Liegakos turned away two shots.
