ST. PETER, Minn. – The Gustavus women’s soccer team hosts Carleton College Saturday afternoon at Gustie Soccer Field during homecoming.
The 5-2-2 (2-2-0 MIAC) Gusties host the 0-8-2 (0-3-1 MIAC) Knights at 1 p.m.
Maddison Ackiss (Sr., Fairbanks, Alaska) recorded two goals to propel the Gustavus women’s soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Saint Mary’s University Wednesday afternoon at Gustie Soccer Field.
With the win the Gusties tallied their fifth of the season, moving to 5-2-2 overall and 2-2 in the MIAC. Saint Mary’s dropped to 2-6-1 overall and 0-4 in the MIAC. The win also proved to be the first come from behind win of the season for the Gusties, and their fourth win at home to stay unbeaten at Gustie Soccer Field.
Saturday’s game marks the 42nd meeting between Gustavus and Carleton. The Gusties own a 16-20-5 all-time record against the Knights. Last season, the Knights defeated the Gusties 4-3 in Northfield, Minn.
Carleton College most recently lost 2-0 against Bethel University on Wednesday. Goalkeeper Elaine Sundberg is the MIAC leader in saves with 58 and minutes played with 940:00.
