ST. PETER, Minn. – The Gustavus baseball team continues its early season slate of non-league games this evening as it travels to the Twin Cities to face the University of Northwestern-St. Paul for a doubleheader starting at 5 p.m. The Gusties enter the contest with a 1-1 overall record, while the Eagles are 4-9.
Gustavus is most recently coming off a spilt at Mount Marty on Sunday, losing game one 3-1 and winning the second game 2-0. Northwestern faced St. Thomas last Wednesday and lost 2-1, 9-3 in a twin bill. John Lundquist (So., Rochester, Minn.) is the Gusties’ top hitter early on, batting .600 (3-5) with two doubles and a walk. Brett Reinhart (So., Chanhassen, Minn.) leads the Eagles at the plate with a .366 average (15-41) with two doubles, three triples, eight RBI, and one walk.
