ST. PETER, Minn. – The Gustavus Adolphus College women’s basketball team opens MIAC Playoff action on Tuesday, Feb. 23 with a matchup against the College of Saint Benedict at Gus Young Court, with tipoff set for 7 p.m. After going 14-4 in the MIAC during the regular season, Gustavus earned the No. 3 seed and the right to host its first playoff game since the 2011-12 season. Saint Benedict clinched the No. 6 seed after defeating Augsburg this past Saturday to finish 10-8 in the league.

Since the initiation of the six-team MIAC Tournament in the 2000-01 season, the Gusties have qualified for the conference playoffs every year. Gustavus is making its 16th consecutive appearance in the MIAC Playoffs this season, holding a record of 8-15 all-time during that span. No team in the MIAC has earned a trip to the league playoffs each year except for the Gusties. Gustavus’s success in the playoffs has come at home, as the Black and Gold hold an 8-2 record in home playoff games during the course of that 16-year stretch.
