ST. PETER, Minn. – After earning a tie and a win in this past weekend’s series with Augsburg College, the Gustavus Adolphus College women’s hockey team dropped one place to No. 9 in this week’s USCHO.com poll that was released Monday. The Gusties had been ranked No. 8 in the first four polls of the season before their split with Augsburg.
Gustavus came away with a 2-2 tie in Friday’s game in Minneapolis. However, the Gusties bounced back with a 4-2 victory in Saturay’s game with the Auggies that was highlighted by an Allison Eder-Zdechlik (Sr., Stillwater, Minn.) hat trick.
The Gusties will continue their stretch against stiff competition this coming weekend, as they head east to Middlebury, Vermont where they will participate in the Panther/Cardinal Classic at Middlebury College. On Saturday, the Gusties will take on defending national runner-up and current No. 2 Elmira College at 4 p.m., and Sunday, the Black and Gold will face defending national champion and current No. 1 Plattsburgh State University at 1 p.m.
