GAME ONE: Gustavus 7, Macalester 6
Gustavus did its damage early on, as it scored at least one run in each of the first four innings and was held scoreless in the final three. A Max Fidler (Sr., Lino Lakes, Minn.) double in the third inning scored Sam Warner (Jr., Chanhassen, Minn.) and Garrett Fuchs (Sr., Cold Spring, Minn.) and a Warner single and Fidler walk in the fourth inning plated Josh Chatfield (So., Apple Valley, Minn.) and Fuchs.

Soderberg threw five innings, giving up seven hits, six runs and three walks, while striking out one. Chris Kelly (Sr., Savage, Minn.) continued his hot stretch on the rubber, as he relieved Soderberg in the sixth and pitched two scoreless innings to close the game and earn his third save of the season.

Macalester starter Brendan O’Connor pitched eight strong innings for the Scots and held Gustavus batters to just five hits. The Scots scored three runs in the third inning before scoring once in the fourth through seventh innings to earn the 7-0 victory.
Michael Strelow (Sr., Braham, Minn.) suffered his fifth loss of the season and moves to 2-5 on the year. Strelow pitched 4.2 innings and struck out nine, but gave up eight hits and two walks, which Macalester converted into five runs.
