Women’s Hockey Travels To New York For Competitive Cardinal Classic

ST. PETER, MINN – The Gustavus Adolphus women’s hockey team is set to face its stiffest competition of the season as it heads to Plattsburgh, New York to compete in the Cardinal Classic hosted by Plattsburgh State University. Gustavus will begin its tournament with a game against No. 1 Plattsburgh on Saturday evening at 6 p.m. at Stafford Ice Arena, while Sunday’s game time and opponent will depend on Saturday’s game result. Other teams competing in the tournament are No. 2 Elmira College and No. 5 Middlebury College, who will compete in the tournament’s other first round game that will take place at 3:30 p.m.

Gustavus heads into the weekend with a record of 4-0-0 in the MIAC and 5-0-0 overall after sweeping Hamline University in a home-home series this past weekend. Plattsburgh enters its own tournament with a record of 7-0-1 and fresh off a national championship in 2013-14.
