The Gustavus women’s soccer team suffered a 3-1 setback at St. Olaf on Saturday afternoon. The Gusties got off to a slow start and trailed 2-0 just 14 minutes into the match. Meghan McMillan’s goal in the 28th minute cut the lead to 2-1, but that is as close as Gustavus would get as the Oles added another goal in the second half to claim the 3-1 win.
Chelsea Bayer suffered the loss in the nets for Gustavus. She allowed all three goals and made five saves. St. Olaf out-shot the Gusties 14-3 in the contest.
The Gusties are now 6-4-0 overall and 2-3-0 in the MIAC, while St. Olaf improves to 7-3-0 overall and 4-1-0 in the MIAC. Gustavus will face UW-Stevens Point in a non-conference match-up on Sunday at 2 pm.
