Gustavus Adolphus College is set to host one of the eight NCAA Regional Tournaments for men’s and women’s tennis at the Brown Outdoor Tennis Complex in St. Peter. The women’s tennis tournament will take place Thursday, May 7 through Saturday, May 9, while the men’s tennis tournament will be held Friday, May 8 through Sunday, May 10.
Six teams will participate in the single-elimination NCAA Women’s Tennis Regional Tournament, including Gustavus Adolphus (21-9), Wheaton (Ill.) (16-4), Luther (30-9), Edgewood (13-8), Wisconsin-Whitewater (23-3), and St. Scholastica (17-9). The winner of the tournament will earn a spot in the NCAA Team Quarterfinals to be held at Collins Hill Athletic Club in Lawrenceville, Georgia on May 19-21.
Six teams will also participate in the single-elimination NCAA Men’s Tennis Regional Tournament, including Gustavus Adolphus (25-8), Wisconsin-Whitewater (21-8), Texas-Tyler (19-6), Luther (36-5), Concordia (Wis.) (14-10), and Wisconsin-Eau Claire (24-9). The winner of the tournament will earn a spot in the NCAA Team Quarterfinals to be held at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges in Claremont, Calif. on May 19-21.
If weather permits, all matches will be contested at the Brown Outdoor Courts. In the event of rain, the adjacent Swanson Tennis Center will be used. The tournament website will provide live match updates for each match.
