Gustavus Adolphus junior Kaelene Lundstrum (Bird Island, Minn./BOLD) was named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for the week ending March 1, 2009. Lundstrum won the shot put and the high jump with NCAA provisional marks at the Pre-MIAC Meet hosted by Macalester on Saturday. Her leap of 1.67 meters (5′ 5 3/4″ ft) in the high jump not only tops the MIAC list, but is sixth nationally. Lundstrum’s shot put mark of 12.94 meters (45′ 5 1/2″) is second in the MIAC and 25th among Division III athletes. The returning All-American heptathlete also finished second in the 55-meter hurdles at the meet.

Lundstrum enters this weekend’s MIAC Championships being held at Concordia College as the defending conference champion in the high jump and the pentathlon.
