St. Peter, Minn. – After 17 days of postponements and cancellations, the Gustavus Adolphus baseball team is set to host Hamline University for a pair of games at last. The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) doubleheader will be played on Friday afternoon at the Gustie baseball field with the first pitch scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Gustavus enters the day 5-12 overall and 2-0 in the MIAC while Hamline posts a record of 13-5 overall, 0-2 in the MIAC.
The last time Gustavus stepped on the diamond was April 8th when they came out with a pair of wins over Carleton College in St. Peter. The Gusties took game one by a final score of 3-2 before grabbing game two with a final of 5-4 in 12 innings. Meanwhile, Hamline last played on April 4th when it dropped a pair to Bethel University in Arden Hills. The Pipers lost the first game 7-5 before dropping the second game by the tally of 7-3. Similar to Gustavus, Hamline needed 10 innings to decide a winner in game two.
