The Gustavus women’s swimming team got off to a slow start and never got back on track in a 149-94 setback in a dual meet with the University of Minnesota, Mankato in the Gustavus Natatorium on Friday evening. Anika Erickson registered the lone first place finish for the Gusties as she claimed top honors in the 100 breaststroke (1:09.70).

The Gusties also claimed three second place finishes including Emily Timm in the 1000-yard freestyle (11:35.14), Allyson Hanneman in the 100-yard backstroke (1:05.41), and Carrie Gundersen in the 500-yard freestyle (5:25.39).

Three third place finishes also helped Gustavus and that group included Steph Korba in the 100-yard butterfly, Dajana Vidovic in the 100-yard free, and Jonna Berry in the 100-yard backstroke.
