St. Peter, Minn. – The Gustavus men’s basketball team is set to host Division II University of Minnesota-Crookston in an exhibition contest on Friday night at Gus Young Court. After beginning practice on October 15th, Friday will be the first live action for the Gusties in the 2012-13 preseason. The opening tip is set for 7:00 p.m.
The Gusties will begin their season with an exhibition game against an NCAA Division II opponent for the fourth consecutive year. After opening its preseason at Winona State last year, Gustavus welcomes UM-Crookston to St. Peter on Friday night for the exhibition opener for both squads. The Gusties will look to build on a year that saw them amass a record of 20-8 overall (16-4 MIAC) and reach the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2005. UM-Crookston enters it’s 2012-13 campaign after a record of 7-19 overall (3-19 NSIC) last season.
