She is the seventh Gustie player to be named an AHCA All-American in program history.

Ubl is joined on the All-America West First Team by goaltender Lauren Bradel of St. Thomas, forwards Gina Barazenelli of UW-Superior and Nicole Grossman of UW-Stevens Point, and defenders Jamie Lewandowski of UW-Stevens Point and Kirsti Hakala of UW-Superior. Gustavus has had a player named to the All-America team in seven of the last eight seasons. Middlebury and Plattsburgh State each had two players named to the All-America East First Team.

Ubl, a communication studies major, is the daughter of Dave Ubl and Leslie Ubl of Maple Grove, Minn. and a 2004 graduate of Blaine High School.

The Gusties wrapped up their season at 25-3-0 following a 3-1 loss to Wisconsin-Superior in a NCAA Tournament quarterfinal last Saturday in St. Peter. Gustavus became the first program in MIAC Women’s Hockey to finish its conference schedule 18-0-0 and has amassed a 97-15-3 overall record (.843 winning percentage) and a 69-2-1 record in MIAC play (.9375 winning percentage) with four regular season and four postseason MIAC titles over the past four seasons.
