The Gustavus gymnastics team dropped to 3-2 in dual meets on the season falling to UW-Stout 175.875 to 169.975 in Menomonie, Wis. on Friday night. Kelly Mathewson finished third in the All-Around with a score of 35.10.
The Gusties individual event team scores of 45.60 on the vault, 39.55 on the uneven bars, 39.675 on the balance beam and 45.15 on the floor exercise.
Individually, Kelly Mathewson scored 9.325 on the vault, 8.925 on the uneven bars, 7.875 on the balance beam, and 8.975 on the floor exercise for an All-Around total of 35.10. Mathewson placed second on the uneven parallel bars, third on the vault, seventh on the floor exercise, and tenth on the balance beam.
Other notable individual finishes for Gustavus included Christine Askham placing third on the floor exercise (9.30), Jaime Tsurasaki placing fifth on the floor exercise (9.050), Aryn Bell finishing fifth on the vault (9.250), Danielle Berg finishing seventh on the vault (9.075), and Laurel Urquhart finishing fifth on the balance beam (8.475).
Gustavus will travel to UW-La Crosse for a triangular with UW-La Crosse and UW-Eau Claire next Friday, Feb. 29 at 7:00 pm.
