Women’s Hockey Defeats Concordia 6-1

The Gustavus Adolphus women’s hockey team defeated Concordia 6-1 Saturday afternoon in Moorhead, Minn. Ingrid Neve put in another solid performance for Gustavus recording two goals and one assist against Concordia.

The Gustavus Adolphus women’s hockey team pushed its conference win streak to 12 by defeating Concordia 6-1 Saturday afternoon in Moorehead, Minn. The Gusties improve to 12-2 in the MIAC and 16-5 overall, while the Cobbers fall to 4-10 in the MIAC and 5-11 overall.

The Gusties led 2-0 at the end of the first period with goals from Josefin Petterson at 6:27 and Annie Katz at 17:54. Ingrid Neve recorded her two goals in the second period to double the lead for Gustavus.

Ellen Doyle lit the lamp at :40 of the third period for the fifth goal of the afternoon. The Gusties gave up the only goal of the weekend at 4:11 of the third period. Jenei Estrada recorded the goal for the Cobbers. Andrea Peterson got the final goal of the game at 7:07 of the third period.

The Gusties outshot the Cobbers 46-11. Jamie Savage made 40 saves for Concordia. Kara Meyer made nine saves for Gustavus and picked up her ninth win of the season.
