Gymnastics Team Finishes Second at Best of Minnesota Meet

The Gustavus women’s gymnastics team posted a score of 182.70 and finished second out of four at the Best of Minnesota meet hosted by the University of Minnesota.

The Gustavus women’s gymnastics team posted a score of 182.70 and finished second out of four at the Best of Minnesota meet hosted by the University of Minnesota. Host Minnesota won the meet with a score of 196.525, followed by Gustavus at 182.70 in second, while Hamline finished third (181.60) and Winona State placed fourth (178.975).

Amanda Parker broke the school record in the all-around for the second consecutive week. She finished third with a score of 37.975. Parker’s mark the week before was 37.875. At Minnesota, Parker scored 9.60 on the vault (sixth), 9.60 on the uneven bars (sixth), 9.50 on the balance beam (seventh), and 9.275 on the floor exercise (11th).

Other top individual finishes included sophomore Ashley Erickson finishes fourth in the vault with a score of 9.650, Molly McIntyre finishing eighth on the uneven bars (9.350), and Ali Legler placing eighth on the floor exercise (9.40) and Alyssa Cox finishing ninth on the vault (9.475) and ninth on the uneven bars (9.475).

As a team, the Gusties set the school record for score on the uneven bars with a mark of 45.850. The individual bars scores included Amanda Parker (9.60), Molly McIntyre (9.350), Alyssa Cox (9.250), Ashley Erickson (8.90), and Sarah Greninger (8.750).

The Gusties also posted the second best team score in school history (182.70). Coach Glidden’s squad set the school mark last week with a 183.40 at the UW-La Crosse Invitational.
