Sari Lindeman, Drew Hood Named MIAC Field Athletes of the Week

Gustavus Adolphus College track and field athletes Sari Lindeman (Jr., Cannon Falls, Minn.) and Drew Hood (Jr., Mankato, Minn./West) have been recognized as MIAC Field Athletes of the Week for the week ending April 29, 2007. Lindeman (triple jump) and Hood (pole vault) each provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships during Saturday’s Drake Alternative Meet in St. Peter.

Lindeman recorded a triple jump of 11.36m (37-3 1/4) at the Drake Alternative meet hosted by Gustavus last Saturday. Her jump is an NCAA provisional qualifier and ranks first in the MIAC.

Hood qualified provisionally for the NCAA Championships in the pole vault with a height of 15-5 at the Drake Alternative meet Saturday hosted by Gustavus Adolphus College. He is currently ranked 20th in Division III.

Lindeman, a communication studies major, is the daughter of Dean and Stephanie Lindeman of Cannon Falls and a 2004 graduate of Cannon Falls High School. Hood, an economics major, is the son of Dennis and Sue Hood of Mankato and a 2004 graduate of Mankato West High School.

Gustavus will compete this Friday in St. Paul at the Meet of the UnSaintly hosted by Hamline University. Friday’s meet is the team’s final scheduled competition prior to the MIAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships May 11-12 in Collegeville.
