Although ranked first nationally by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association, the Tommies (34-2, 18-0 MIAC) are ranked only third in the most recent NCAA Division III Midwest Region Poll released April 19. Gustavus (25-4, 15-0 MIAC) is rated fourth in the same poll but dropped both ends of a doubleheader to Central College Monday afternoon. Central is rated sixth in both the national coaches’ poll and the Midwest Region rankings. Washington University (Mo.) and Luther hold down the top two spots in the regional rankings.
