Margaret Dorer (Jr., St. Paul, Minn./St. Anthony) led the Gusties (19-2-0, 13-1-0 MIAC) with a pair of goals and an assist. Andrea Peterson (Sr., White Bear Lake, Minn.) and Jenny Pusch (So., Minneapolis, Minn./Holy Angels) each added a goal and two assists.

The Gusties lit the lamp first as Kelly Crandall (Sr., Plymouth, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong) scored on the power play at the 15:09 mark of the first period off an assist from Alyssa Saunders (Fy., Wayzata, Minn./The Blake School). Pusch extended the lead to two goals 1:21 later off assists from Dorer and Jessica Doig (So., New Prague, Minn./New Prague). Peterson and Dorer notched power-play goals in the second period to put Gustavus up 4-0 and Laura Hillman (Fy., Albert Lea, Minn.) scored her second goal in as many nights to give the Gusties a 5-0 lead at the end of the second period. Dorer scored her second power-play goal of the game at the 5:25 mark of the third period to round out the scoring.

Breanna Scavo (Fy., Blaine, Minn./North St. Paul) made six saves through the first two periods to record the win and improve to 4-1-0 on the season. Amanda Rosequist (So., Edina, Minn./Breck) made four saves in the third period to preserve the shutout. Toni Menth (7-9-4) made 40 saves while taking the loss.

With an assist in Friday night’s game against the Auggies, Andrea Peterson became just the fourth Division III player in the NCAA era (since 2001-02) to record 100 career assists. She now sits at 102 career assists, fourth all-time. Her 177 career points (75g-102a) is tied for third all-time in Division III and she needs only one points to move past Cherie Stewart of Manhattanville (101-76–177; 2002-05) into third place.

Gustavus faces Saint Benedict (2-13-5, 2-7-5 MIAC) next weekend (Fri.-Sat., February 16-17) and needs two points in its final four regular season games to clinch at least a tie for the MIAC title.
