First year goaltender Kara Meyer (Detroit Lakes, Minn.) has been named MIAC Women’s Hockey Player of the Week for her efforts in a weekend sweep of Augsburg.

First year goaltender Kara Meyer (Detroit Lakes, Minn.) has been named MIAC Women’s Hockey Player of the Week for her efforts in a weekend sweep of Augsburg.

Meyer turned away 37 of 40 shots in the two wins over Augsburg. She made 18 saves and allowed one goal as Gustavus beat the Auggies 3-1 on Friday night. On Saturday afternoon, Meyer recorded 19 saves and allowed two goals as the Gusties rallied to claim a 4-2 victory. Meyer, who picked up the first two wins of her collegiate career, posted a .925 save percentage and a 1.50 goals against average in the series. Gustavus is currently 4-3-0 overall and 2-2-0 in the MIAC.
