Junior Ingrid Neve (St. Paul, Minn.) and first-year Jenny Pusch (Minneapolis, Minn.) each scored a pair of goals and an assist to lead the Gustavus Adolphus women’s hockey team to a 6-0 win over Concordia on Saturday afternoon in Moorhead. Neve was seeing her first action of the season.

Senior captain Abby Randall (Tonka Bay, Minn.) got the Gusties on the board just 5:52 into the contest, depositing the puck past Cobber goalie Jenna Johnson for her first goal of the season. Junior Andrea Peterson (White Bear Lake, Minn.) and sophomore Molly Doyle (Eagan, Minn.) assisted on the power play goal. Margaret Dorer (So., St. Paul, Minn.) boosted the Gustavus lead to 2-0 just 62 seconds later off assists from Neve and first-year Mari Gunderson (Shoreview, Minn.).

Pusch scored her first goal of the game with only 2:14 left in the first period and then followed with her second midway through the second period. The initial goal was unassisted, while first-year forwards Christine Wicker (Apple Valley, Minn.) and Brigitte Bartholdi (Cloquet, Minn.) tallied assists on the second goal.

Neve capped off the scoring with a pair of goals within a ten-second span six minutes into the third period. Pusch assisted on the first goal, while Neve scored unassisted on the second.

Kitty Hurley (Jr., Minnetonka, Minn.)
picked up three saves in two periods of work to get the win before being relieved by first-year Amanda Rosequist. Rosequist (Edina, Minn.) registered a pair of saves in the third periods.

The Gusties converted on one of two power play opportunities, while holding the Cobbers out of the net on their three chances with the extra skater.

With her first period assist, Andrea Peterson moved into fifth place all-time on the Gustavus points list with 112 points, passing Katie Deschneau (2000-04). Peterson stands only one point out of fourth place, currently held by Michelle Zaske (1997-2001)

The Gusties, now 6-1-0 overall and 4-0-0 in the MIAC, will face Hamline in a home-and-home series Thursday and Saturday before hosting UW-Stevens Point on December 13 to close out the 2005 portion of the schedule. The Pointers are rated fourth nationally in the USCHO.com Division III Coaches Poll, one position behind the Gusties. Gustavus already possesses a win over UW-Stevens Point this season, winning 4-3 on November 12 in Stevens Point.
