The Gustavus Adolphus College men’s hockey team will play host to the Hamline Pipers on Friday, February 12 and prior to the start of the game, the team will honor teammate Brendan Loney, a forward from Maple Grove, Minnesota, who was injured in a diving accident in July 2009.  As a result of the accident, Brendan sustained injures to his C4 and C5 vertebrae, leaving him paralyzed.  Brendan has been undergoing extensive treatment and rehabilitation since July.  Through it all, Brendan’s courage, determination and positive outlook have been an inspiration to those around him.

The goal is to fill Don Roberts Ice Rink to capacity as Brendan and his family are introduced before the game.  To show support and help the Loney family with on-going expenses related to Brendan’s injury, donations to the Brendan Loney Supplemental Needs Fund can be made at the game.  For those unable to attend the game but still wishing to contribute, donations can be sent to:

Brendan Loney Supplemental Needs Trust
7555 Market Place Drive
Eden Prairie, MN 55344

We look forward to making this a special night for Brendan and his family as we continue to keep them in our thoughts and prayers.
